La Palma del Condado City Council is a Punto de Información Catastral, PIC (Land Information Point) with 4 authorized agents since 06/10/05, when the authorization with the Dirección General del Catastro (General Directorate of Cadastre) was signed.
This service enables citizens to obtain, via online, cadastral data they own. Moreover, it implies money, commute and time saving, and a greater comfort inasmuch as, up to then, this had to be done at the Dirección General del Catastro in Huelva.
This "PIC" was developed in response to the significant demand for cadastral information from those who had not the necessary digital or telematic means and were unable or unwilling to commute to travel to Huelva in order to obtain their cadastral data. This is possible due to the fact that the PIC offers all the advantages of the Oficina Virtual del Catastro (Virtual Cadastral Office) with the only requirement of applying for the service.
The Council, by means of the PIC, assumes a mediator role in the right of the citizens to access their cadastral information. Citizens will now be able to have access to all the recorded data related to them in the national cadastral database, from which the Oficina Virtual del Catastro gets the information. This database has the advantages of containing rural and urban information, not only alphanumeric or written, but also cartographic, and being updated daily according to the cadastral updating processes made in each and every one of the directorates and subdirectorates of the Cadastre. This is done either directly or with the collaboration of the local entities, certifying public officers and other entities.
The simplicity and convenience of this new procedure to make available the cadastral information through the PIC is essential to get closer to the citizen. Furthermore, it makes it possible for an authorized representative to manage this process, an action that was not feasible previously and, therefore, makes it easier to gain access to the service.
